Isn't it time? Stand Up For YOUR Rights.
Politics has become a dirty word. Once it meant Freedom...Here is the United States, it meant a freedom from a lack in representation in how OUR government was run. It meant we had the ability to have a say in the laws that would affect us. Having politicians meant we had someone we could count on to do what was right for us - taking our needs and wants into account. Having the right to vote was something we FOUGHT for. People marched in the streets for the right to vote. People had sit-in, boycotts, picket line all to say WE ARE THE CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY AND WE DEMAND THE RIGHT. People died for the right. Men, women, colored and pale...one thing we have in common is that we are citizens of this country and we demand the RIGHT to be represented fairly.
The cash in our wallet should not dictate the treatment we receive by our government. The name of our father on our birth certificate should have no play in how we are treated. The color on our skin or who we decide to marry - none of those determine if we have the right to fair representation. The mere fact that we are citizens of this country GIVES us that right.
That means that we are all subject to the SAME laws and the SAME treatment under those laws.
Unfortunately this does not seem to be the case....
Too many people have given up that need to fight for what should already be theirs. It seems easier to sit back and let someone else do it now. When I say "fight" I don't mean go out and start a brawl in the street...remember subject to the same laws? You don't have the right to punch someone else in the face because you don't like the words they say (even if you really want to).
But there are people who are willing to stand up and demand freedom in the law. There are LOTS.
But you are not powerless!
That's right it may seem a small thing but EACH vote is a voice. Together each voice becomes stronger.
Stop settling for the status quo! You do not HAVE to elect only those who have already shown they cannot or WILL not stop the unfairness! We are NOT a two-party system, regardless of want those 2 parties want you to believe. Do you think that the people asked whether George Washington was a member of the Democrats or the Republicans when they voted? NO...they wanted someone who would stand up to their oppressors and that's what he was.
Today you have a lot of choices, but for one reason or another you still go back and choose the party-system which has continually failed you. Perhaps it is hope. Perhaps it is because someone tells you that if you vote for anyone else you are "throwing your vote away". How can that be true? If we all voted for the person we felt would do the best job, even if they don't win - isn't a message sent that the others didn't get the vote number they wanted?
Remember when everyone was mad at the Republicans a few years back so we all got together and voted for a Democrat Senate and Congress under Obama? What did they accomplish with that incredible majority? NOTHING. Then they went back to blaming each other for their failure to represent us again.
While I am not running for office in Congress or the Senate, I am running to represent you here in this state. I don't represent the parties. I will represent YOU. I will stand up for YOU and be a voice for....that's right, YOU.
But YOU have to help. I can't do it alone. The system has made it so that they can keep the power where they want it and WE LET IT HAPPEN...now it's time to "man-up" and say we made a mistake letting you take over our government, now we want it back.
HOW do we take it back? Sign nomination forms for independents and 3rd party candidates...this doesn't mean you have to vote for them - they need to WIN your vote. I have to WIN your vote, I need to DESERVE your vote...just like those in the parties should have to do...Your vote is a GIFT, not something someone deserves because their daddy was rich...Go to the top of this page, click on the Nomination Form. Print it and fill it in then mail it back to me. If you'd like to be added to my "Real People Endorsing Jilletta for Governor" list, put a note in the envelope with it and I will add you, or send me an email if you've already signed a nomination form and want to be on that list.
Then go sign other nomination forms to let other candidates try to win your vote...Why not allow the people to run for offices to represent their community? Why should only the Republicans and Democrats have that honor?
It's time to stand up for yourself and say "I deserve choice!"
Then hold those you elect accountable! If we don't do what we say we're going to do for you, ask WHY? I will ALWAYS answer you.
Once elected, this website will not come down - my Facebook page and Twitter account will not come down....elected by you, I want to always be available to you because that is the kind of Governor you DESERVE.
What are you waiting for? Nomination forms are a timed thing! Do it early, do it today and then sleep well knowing you did something to stand up for YOUR rights.
